  • I confirm that I have completed this form completely, accurately and truthfully. I also understand that any inaccuracies in the information submitted may result in a denied (or revocation of an approved) transfer request.
  • In submitting this request for a Transfer Student, I am indicating that I understand and accept the conditions of possible enrollment as described in “The Criteria for Enrollment of Transfer Students” (see below), NAFCS Policy 5111, and NAFCS Policy 6150.
  • I understand that transportation is the parent’s ultimate responsibility. Transportation is NOT provided by NAFCS.
  • I understand that the Superintendent has final authority over approval of this request and that the Board will not hear any appeals.
  • I understand that the continuation of Transfer Student status is contingent upon my child remaining a student in good standing.

Criteria for Enrollment of Transfer Students

The following criteria and/or factors will be considered when determining enrollment of your student into NAFCS:

  1. Transfer student enrollment should be for educational reasons.
  2. Transfer should not place undue burden on NAFCS, as determined by the Superintendent.
  3. Final approval for admittance of transfer students to NAFCS is made by the Superintendent. No appeals will be heard by the Board.
  4. NAFCS reserves the right to place the student in the grade level and/or class section deemed the most appropriate.
  5. Returning transfer students MAY be asked to submit an “Intent to Re-Enroll” form by April of each year. Disciplinary action such as expulsion or poor attendance could be cause for denial of re-admittance.
  6. NAFCS is not responsible for transportation of transfer students to and from school. Parents/Guardians must be able to provide transportation.
  7. The Assistant Superintendents at the appropriate level (K-4) & (5-12) will determine if there is sufficient room in the building, grade level, and specific classroom to accept a transfer student.
  8. To be successful as a transfer student at NAFCS, the student should be maintaining a 90% attendance rate (defined chronic absence under Indiana Code 20-18-2-6.5) at their current school and be in good standing. (Will consider both student absences and tardiness)
  9. The student must not have an excessive discipline record that includes an expulsion, 10 days suspended from school or other disciplinary infractions per Indiana Code 20-26-11-32 J.
